W194 Coupe 1952 - 1953 Designer : Rudolf Uhlenhaut , Friedrich Geiger The racing car that took first and second overall at the 1952 Le Mans 24 Hours. A space-frame construction delivered a lightweight yet rigid body, powered by an inline-six 3.0-litre engine producing a top speed of 240 km/h. The gullwing doors were a direct consequence of the high sill demanded by the space frame — a solution later carried over to the production W198 300SL. Rudolf Uhlenhaut and Friedrich Geiger's functional beauty endures to this day.

W196 Roadster 1955 Designer : Rudolf Uhlenhaut , Friedrich Geiger A sports car racer derived from the F1 W196, powered by a straight-eight 2.5-litre engine producing 300 ps. Stirling Moss set a course record in the 1955 Mille Miglia. Following the tragedy of Pierre Levegh's fatal accident at Le Mans that year, Mercedes-Benz withdrew from racing entirely. The two Uhlenhaut Coupés built as test cars are among the most mythical automobiles in existence — one sold at auction in 2022 for approximately €135 million, a world record for any vehicle sold at auction.

C199 Coupe 2004 - 2009 Designer : Gordon Murray , Mark Fetherston , Steve Mattin , Il-hun Yoon , Peter Pfeiffer A supercar developed jointly by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren, built at McLaren's Woking factory. A supercharged V8 5.5-litre engine produced 626 ps. Exterior styling was led by Gorden Wagener on the Mercedes-Benz side, while Gordon Murray oversaw vehicle engineering for McLaren.Top speed reached 334 km/h. A roadster variant (Z199) was also offered.

Z199 Roadster 2009 Designer : Il-hun Yoon , Slavche Tanevski , Gordon Murray , Peter Pfeiffer The open-top version of the C199, fitted with a removable soft-top that maintained comparable aerodynamic performance when raised. The powertrain was shared with the coupé: a supercharged V8 5.5-litre producing 626 ps. Produced in limited numbers and highly sought after.

C197 Coupe 2009 - 2014 Designer : Mark Fetherston , Gorden Wagener The first car developed and produced entirely by AMG as a standalone model. Gullwing doors paid homage to the 300SL, while an aluminium space frame housed a naturally aspirated V8 6.2-litre engine producing 571 ps. A roadster (R197) was also offered. The SLS AMG Electric Drive produced 751 ps from four motors — an extraordinary figure for its era.

The range expanded progressively through GT, GT S, GT C and GT R, with the track-focused GT R Pro producing 585 ps at the top of the hierarchy.

The range-topping GT 63 S 4MATIC+ produced 639 ps from a twin-turbocharged V8 4.0-litre, combining four-wheel steering, rear-wheel drive bias and 4MATIC+ for exceptional dynamics. Despite its practical four-door format, it posted impressive lap times at the Nürburgring.

C590 4door Coupe 05/2026 - Designer : Matthias Schenker, Bastian Baudy, Gorden Wagener Debuting in 2026 as the successor to the first-generation X290. The first production AMG model built on the AMG.EA platform, featuring a tri-motor setup with three YASA axial-flux motors.

Note: The AMG GT 63 delivers 1,169 hp (4MATIC+) from a 106 kWh battery, achieving 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h. Features an 800V architecture and debuts the MB.OS operating system. Front features an illuminated Panamericana-style grille with vertical aero louvers; rear highlights include 6 turbine-style LED taillights and an active rear diffuser. Retains the 5-door liftback layout with frameless side glass. Designed by Matthias Schenker (AMG.EA Concept GT XX), marking a major generational shift from the V8 PHEV (GT 63 S E Performance) to a fully electric drivetrain.
