W111 220, 220S, 220SE, 230S 1959 - 1968 W112 300SE 1961 - 1965 Designer : Paul Bracq , Friedrich Geiger Mid-to-upper-range saloons in the distinctive "fintail" style. The W111 covered the 220/220S/220SE/230S variants while the W112 handled the 300SE. Paul Bracq and Friedrich Geiger's refined design embodied the European luxury car ideal of the era. An estate (Universal) variant was also offered.

W108 / W109 1965 - 1972 Designer : Bruno Sacco , Paul Bracq , Friedrich Geiger The upper-range successor to the W111/W112 fintail sedans, introduced in 1965. Mercedes-Benz designated the W108 and W109 as constituting a newly created "Upper Middle Class" range at launch. The removal of the tail fins was the most visible change, with Paul Bracq's more refined silhouette replacing the flamboyant styling of its predecessor. The W108 covered mainstream variants while the W109 added an extended wheelbase and self-levelling air suspension. The legendary 300SEL 6.3 transplanted the W100 Grosser's engine into the W108 body. As the direct predecessor of the W116 S-Class, the W108/W109 is the true forerunner of the modern S-Class lineage

AMG variants were also available, with the 500SEL 6.0 regarded as the ultimate W126.

W140 07/1991 - 09/1998 Designer : Olivier Boulay , Peter Pfeiffer , Bruno Sacco Developed during the bubble economy era and loaded with technology and luxury to an extraordinary degree. Double-glazed windows, power-closing doors and numerous other innovations were firsts for the industry. The V12-powered 600SEL/S 600 sat at the very pinnacle. Criticism of its size and weight prompted a reset for the successor.

W220 1998 - 2005 Designer : Dieter Futschik (Exterior) , Christoph Holzwarth (Interior) , Peter Pfeiffer , Bruno Sacco Responded to criticism of the W140 with significant weight reduction and a more compact footprint. Active Body Control (ABC) air suspension dramatically improved ride quality. The AMG S 65 produced 604 ps from its V12 biturbo. Early electronic reliability issues were a concern, though driving dynamics were highly praised.

Gorden Wagener's contribution gave the exterior a more sculptural and assertive character than the W220.

The AMG S 63 produces 802 ps via a V8 PHEV powertrain, while the S 680 upholds the V12 legacy as its last bastion.

V297 04/2021 - Designer : Robert Lešnik, Lukas Haag, Mark Fetherston, Gabriel Nemeth, Balázs Filczer The flagship BEV sedan under the EQ brand officially debuting on April 15, 2021. As the first model built on the EVA platform, it achieved a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.20, setting a production car record at launch.

Note: Dimensions: Length 5,216 mm, wheelbase 3,210 mm, height 1,512 mm. Available with 90 kWh or 107.8 kWh batteries. Lineup features the EQS 450+ (245 kW / RWD / up to 770 km WLTP) and EQS 580 4MATIC (385 kW). Supports DC fast charging up to 200 kW (adding up to 300 km in 15 mins). Rear-wheel steering (up to 10°), OTA updates, and HEPA filtration come standard. The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the first all-electric AMG model, delivering 560 kW (761 hp) and 1,020 Nm. Optional 141 cm MBUX Hyperscreen integrates three displays.
